Lip readers on social media believe they detected the message New Orleans Saints rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler had for head coach Dennis Allen during the team’s humiliating home loss to the Denver Broncos on “Thursday Night Football.”
On the night the Saints honored Drew Brees by inducting him into their Hall of Fame, the NFC South club put up one of the most humiliating performances in franchise history, losing 33-10 on their home field. Spencer Rattler never stood a chance without star wide receivers Rashid Shaheed, Chris Olave and a banged-up offensive line, taking six sacks and failing to throw a single touchdown in the loss.
Understandably, even Rattler had a tough time bottling up his frustration in Thursday’s ugly defeat. For some reason, Allen called a timeout with four seconds remaining in the first half after Rattler completed a pass to Alvin Kamara at the Saints’ 36-yard line:
“But [the Saints are] gonna take another timeout, I guess. Alright. For what practical purpose, you tell me.” – Al Michaels
“I don’t know.” – Kirk Herbstreit
“Even you’re stumped. To stump you is hard.” – Al
And then the Saints choose to just kneel down. 🏈🎙️#NFL #TNF pic.twitter.com/UJ0G8UAXHO

So Allen called a timeout just to run a kneel-down to close out the half. And fans believe they’ve figured out what Spencer Rattler had to say to his head coach following the baffling call:
Spencer Rattler has played one half with Dennis Allen and already knows the guy doesn’t have a brain

The team is literally walking off the field and the Saints call a timeout.

It’s impossible to comprehend why Allen called his timeout at that point, especially given his team’s performance. Usually, a coach in that situation wants to take it right to the half and get his group refreshed.
Spencer Rattler Can’t Be Blamed For The Loss
Rattler made his first NFL start against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday and had minimal time to prepare for a stingy Broncos defense on a short week. Without his two best receivers, Rattler hardly had a chance, to say nothing of a Saints defense that didn’t show up whatsoever.
