The Seattle Seahawks have avoided the worst-case injury scenario regarding star wideout DK Metcalf, who had to be carted off in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s Week 7 road contest against the Atlanta Falcons.
DK Metcalf suffered a knee injury during Seattle’s 34-14 win and did not return. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the All-Pro wideout has a Grade 1 sprained MCL and is considered “week to week.”
Naturally, fans quickly fear a season-ending injury such as a torn ACL when a player has to be carted off the field. Fortunately, Metcalf avoided the worst-case scenario and hopefully won’t miss much, if any, time.
The Seahawks snapped a three-game winning streak in their blowout win over the red-hot Falcons. DK Metcalf finished with four receptions for a game-high 99 yards and one touchdown.

The San Francisco 49ers’ ugly Week 7 home loss to the Kansas City Chiefs moved Seattle into sole possession of first in the NFC West. Seattle has a mini two-game homestand against the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams before their Week 10 bye.
DK Metcalf just needed one-arm to keep AJ Terrell away from Kenneth Walker 🤣

Through his first seven games of 2024, Metcalf has 35 receptions for 568 yards and three touchdowns. Assuming he doesn’t miss much time, the 26-year-old will cross the 1,000-yard mark for the fourth time in five years.
DK Metcalf & Seahawks Are In Driver’s Seat For The NFC West
The 2-4 Arizona Cardinals and 2-5 Rams are not at all threats to win the division over Seattle or San Francisco. The 49ers look awfully vulnerable without star wideout Brandon Aiyuk, All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey, defensive tackle Javon Hargrave and linebacker Dre Greenlaw.
So DK Metcalf and his Seahawks have the division in their grasp. A victory over the 49ers on the road in Week 11 would push Seattle that much closer to their first division crown since 2020, and just their second since 2017.
