Saturday’s Miami-Louisville college football game has gone viral, and not because of the No. 6 Hurricanes’ 52-45 win over the hometown Cardinals.
ESPN cameramen have been alternately criticized and lionized by fans over a bizarre closeup of Louisville cheerleaders at a crucial moment of the game.
With the Cardinals driving late in the fourth, fans were given an up-close look at the back side of Louisville’s dance team as they performed for the crowd at L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium.
‘That’s someone’s daughter!’ one critic wrote on X in response to the clip.
Much of the other responses focused on thanking ESPN for the up-close perspective.

‘Cameraman is clearly a trained professional,’ one fan added.
It’s actually been a big week for eagle-eyed camerapersons with questionable motives.
In the New York Knicks’ preseason finale against the Wizards, MSG Network cameras in Washington caught the awkward moment a couple began arguing in the crowd.
With MSG Network studio host Bill Pidto reading a promo as the broadcast returned from commercial, a man and woman in Knicks replica jerseys appeared in the crowd at Capital One Arena.
Only instead of popcorn or a large drink, they were sharing an intense conversation with those in their immediate vicinity.
One man seated a row behind the two Knicks fans was noticeably eavesdropping as the woman became more agitated, turned her head away from her acquaintance and wiped a tear from her eye.

‘Homie in the background just wanted to watch some hoops now he gotta listen to this,’ one fan wrote on X.
Interestingly, as the woman became more emotional, the man appeared to become withdrawn and began staring into the distance as the game returned from a timeout.
A large number of responses focused on MSG Network’s decision to stick with the arguing couple during what could have been a more private moment.
‘Why they keep the camera on him?’ one fan asked online.
‘That’s not cool to have the camera on them like that,’ another added.
