The Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers are set to square off on “Sunday Night Football” for their Week 8 matchup. However, Dallas could be without their leading rusher, Rico Dowdle.

Just hours before kickoff, a report states that Dowdle is now questionable after arriving at the stadium with an illness.

This could be a huge blow to the Cowboys’ offensive game plan, as the 49ers give up an average of 112.9 rushing yards per game.

It would leave Ezekiel Elliot, Dalvin Cook, and Deuce Vaugh as the only running backs on the roster.

Elliot is the only one who has over 100 rushing yards on the season at 115.

Rico Dowdle Was Supposed To Get More Time In Week 8

During the week, the Cowboys coaching staff clarified that they would lean on Dowdle more going forward.

“He definitely needs to touch the ball more, without a doubt,” head coach Mike McCarthy said.

During his first six games of the year, Dowdle has only had 59 attempts, equalling less than 10 per game.
