The discussion around Harrison Butker’s graduation speech continues, and Kylie Kelce is the latest example.
Kelce, the wife of former Philadelphia Eagles lineman Jason Kelce, recently did an interview with Cheddar where she was asked about the contents of Butker’s speech, where he said he believes that the importance of having children and raising them has been diminished.
“I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion,” Kelce answered. “I hope that if anyone does not align with those views in that graduating class they know that they have just achieved something that no one can take away from them. Their education will stick with them for the rest of their lives.”
She continued by saying that choosing either path is valuable and justifiable.
“I hope they were appropriately celebrated if that was not their view, and if it was and they’re looking forward to making a family and being a stay at home mom, then more power to them,” she said.
She also added: “I think that as women we should support each other in our choices and making sure that we feel as though we can do whatever we would like to do. So hopefully those graduating women know that at the very least I’m very proud of them, and I hope that they go on to do whatever it is that makes their heart happy.”

Kylie Kelce Gives Common Sense Answers On Butker Speech
This is the obvious answer to someone being asked about what Butker said. People can choose their own path, and there’s value to be found in different places. She seemed to imply that Butker’s speech downplayed the achievements of the assembled graduates. And there’s a case to be made that he could have chosen his words better, considering the setting.
But it’s also important to highlight that there are other options for women, not just following down the corporate path. Butker did that, and Kelce didn’t criticize him for it.
The key takeaway is that people are allowed to have different perspectives. Butker’s views are not an abhorrent, unacceptable violation of societal norms. And those who disagree are free to do so without calling for him to be “canceled” or ostracized.
See how easy it can be to discuss issues and viewpoints without stooping to unnecessary hyperbolic extremism?
Kylie Kelce speaks out on Harrison Butker’s commencement speech as she addresses controversial ‘homemaker’ remark
Kylie Kelce has weighed in on the recent controversy surrounding Harrison Butker after the Kansas City Chiefs kicker suggested women should prioritize being ‘homemakers’ in life.
Butker, who helped the Chiefs win a second straight Super Bowl back in February, sparked outrage last month with his opinion-dividing commencement speech at Benedictine College.
As well as taking aim at the LGBTQ+ community and pro-abortion advocates, the 28-year-old was accused of sexism after telling the women graduates in attendance that raising children should give them more excitement in life than any potential career.
Those comments ignited fierce debate last month; with several high-profile figures condemning Butker and others claiming his remarks were blown out of proportion.
Now the dust has settled, Kelce – the wife of Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason – has given her taken on it.

Butker sparked outrage when he addressed students at Benedictine College last month
‘I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion,’ Kylie said about Butker during an interview with Cheddar.
‘I hope that if anyone does not align with those views in that graduating class they know that they have just achieved something that no one can take away from them. Their education will stick with them for the rest of their lives.
‘I hope they were appropriately celebrated if that was not their view, and if it was and they’re looking forward to making a family and being a stay at home mom, then more power to them.’
She added: ‘I think that as women we should support each other in our choices and making sure that we feel as though we can do whatever we would like to do. So hopefully those graduating women know that at the very least I’m very proud of them, and I hope that they go on to do whatever it is that makes their heart happy.’
Amid the controversy last month, Jason revealed his wife’s thoughts about the Butker speech during an episode of his and brother Travis’ New Heights podcast.
Despite admitting that they did not align themselves with some of his views, both men leapt to the defense of Travis’ Chiefs teammates and urged people to move on from the topic.
‘Make no mistake about it, a lot of the things he said in his commencement speech are not things that I align myself with,’ Jason said.

Jason also discussed the Butker controversy on his New Heights podcast last month
‘But, he’s giving a commencement speech at a Catholic university, and shocker… it ended up being a very religious and Catholic speech.
‘I can listen to somebody talk and take great value in it, like when he’s talking about the importance of family and the importance a great mother can make. But [I can] also acknowledge that not everybody has to be a homemaker if that’s not what they want to do in life.
‘When you’re listening to somebody, you take in things that you like, [then] you listen to other things and you say, “Well I don’t f***ing like that.”
‘I’ve had so many people ask me, what would you do if your daughters had to sit there and listen to somebody tell them – after they’ve just earned a degree – that they should just go to align to be homemakers? And I would say if my daughters let anybody tell them what to do, or that they should be homemakers, then I’ve failed as a dad.
‘Like what the f**k are you talking about? I don’t care who’s talking to them, if you let somebody up on a stage tell you that you can’t do that, and then you’re like “oh f**k, I guess I won’t go be a CEO”… then you’re not gonna make it!
‘If you don’t like what somebody says, all you gotta do is just say: “That guy’s a f***ing idiot” – and then you move on. I don’t get what the whole fuss is about quite honest.’
Kelce then backtracked by stressing that he does understand the controversy surrounding Butker’s remarks, before making a joke about his wife Kylie when discussing her view on the commencement speech.
‘I get what the fuss is about, because I know that certain groups have been persecuted against for a long period in this country,’ he continued.
‘And women in particular, obviously my wife… I think she was a little bit frustrated with some of these comments.
‘Initially I said listen, you’re gonna have to go back in the kitchen and make me a sandwich. I’m listening to the game right now.’
Fans Praise Kylie Kelce’s Bold Response to ‘Homemaker’ Comments
Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker sparked controversy during a recent commencement speech.
Kylie Kelce has spoken!
The wife of former Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Kelce finally gave her two cents on the controversial commencement speech made by NFL kicker Harrison Butker, who plays on the Kansas City Chiefs alongside her brother-in-law, Travis Kelce.
In case you missed it, Harrison, 28, stirred up quite the controversy while addressing the graduates at Benedictine College last month, where he specifically sent a message to the female students celebrating their graduation.
At the time, Harrison made the assumption that the “majority” of women in the audience were more excited for marriage and having children than for the next step in their career. He also claimed that one of the most “important titles” a woman can hold is that of a “homemaker.”
Kylie, 32, was asked about the speech while attending an event for the Eagles Autism Foundation on Thursday, June 13, where she said in an interview that while she believes “everyone is entitled to their own opinion,” she had quite a different message that she wanted the graduates to hear.
“I hope that if anyone does not align with those views in that graduating class that they know that they have just achieved something—those women graduating in that class have just achieved something that no one can take away from them. Their education will stick with them for the rest of their lives,” Kylie said.
“I hope that they were appropriately celebrated if that was not their view,” she added.

As far as those whose beliefs did align with Harrison’s comments, Kylie, a mom to three daughters, expressed, “more power to them.”
“I think that as women we should support each other in our choices and making sure that we feel as though we can do whatever we would like to do. So hopefully those graduating women know that, at the very least, I’m very proud of them,” she continued, adding that she hopes the women in that graduating class “go on to do whatever it is that makes their heart happy.”
Prior to her remarks, Kylie’s husband hinted at her feelings toward Harrison’s comments, admitting in a previous episode of his and Travis’ New Heights podcast that Kylie was “a little bit frustrated” over the speech.
But fans online thought Kylie’s take on the situation was perfectly articulated, with users on X applauding the way she answered the question.
“Absolute perfection as an answer and sincere too,” one person noted, calling Kylie’s words, “Not snide or shady, just the truth.”
Kylie “is a queen,” another person added, calling the mom of three “the epitome of class.”
“Kylie for President fr,” someone else chimed in.
