Dolphins Legend From 1972 Team Popped Champagne After Chiefs Lose First Game Of Season

Members of the legendary 1972 Miami Dolphins team that went undefeated celebrated in style on Sunday night, popping champagne after the Kansas City Chiefs fell to the Buffalo Bills, 30-21.

The Chiefs entered Sunday’s game undefeated at 9-0 but their perfect season came to an end against the Bills, who were led by their superstar quarterback Josh Allen. Kansas City kept it close until late in the fourth quarter when Allen sealed the deal with a 26-yard touchdown run that served as the dagger.

Members of that iconic 1972 team celebrated the evening with a glass of champagne, something they’ve done through the years after the final undefeated team would lose a game.

Among those watching closely was Hall of Fame fullback Larry Csonka, a key member of that Dolphins team, who commemorated the moment with a celebratory toast, sharing a photo shortly after the game ended.

The Chiefs will look to get back on track against the Carolina Panthers next week.
