Jonnu Smith knew his family was in the stands supporting him, but he had no clue that a moment he had would end up with them getting a football that he wasn’t actually throwing to them.

In a 34-19 victory against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Miami Dolphins offense was surgical.

The most reliable and dynamic target for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was not Tyreek Hill but tight end Jonnu Smith.

Smith’s first touchdown occurred on the opening drive of the game, a 14-play, 70-yard drive that took over eight minutes off the clock.

At the conclusion of the play, Jonnu Smith is seen getting up from the ground and blindly launching the football into the stands for a fan to retrieve.

What makes it even crazier is that the ball landed right next to his family.

What are the odds?

Tua Tagovailoa completed 28 of 36 passes for 288 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions to help the Dolphins improve their record to 4-6 and keep hope alive in this daunting 2024 season.

Jonnu Smith Put Together a Historic Performance Against The Las Vegas Raiders.

Jonnu Smith has made plays here and there throughout the season, but he certainly turned it up a notch on Sunday when he gave a performance to remember in the 34-19 victory against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Smith finished with six catches for 101 yards and two touchdowns.

In doing so, he became the first tight end in Dolphins history with at least 100 yards and two scores.

The 101 yards that Jonnu Smith had represented a career-high for him. It was also historic, as it was the first 100-yard game for a Dolphins tight end since 2021.
