Jake Paul emerged victorious over ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson in their fight last weekend in Texas that went down as the most-streamed live sporting event in history with 65 million concurrent streams at one point. There were so many optimistic people going into Friday night, hopeful that Mike Tyson could knockout Jake Paul, but then came a moment in the pre-show coverage that changed Jason Kelce and everyone else’s minds.
It was during the pre-fight interview where Mike Tyson‘s son was interviewing him and then they kissed and Mike started to walk away and the Netflix cameras caught Mike’s bare cheeks and streamed them to the tens and tens of millions of people watching worldwide. And for many, the stream was buffering and the screen paused at the exact moment that Netflix caught Mike’s cheeks on camera.
Travis and Jason Kelce discussed this on the latest episode of New Heights with Travis saying it was the “funniest s— ever” and that he immediately hopped on his phone and sent that clip to everyone. Jason said “I didn’t think Mike was going to win before but I knew when I saw those cheeks he wasn’t going to win.”

For those that haven’t seen the Mike Tyson clip yet, if there’s anyone out there that hasn’t, you can see thousands upon thousands of versions of the clip floating around on Threads and X. Here’s one for those interested but it’s exactly as described above.
Unfortunately for myself, I missed this moment on the stream. My Netflix kept buffering and gave up trying to restart the stream and started watching something else so I missed this moment and unfortunately forged ahead backing Mike Tyson which as well now know was a poor decision…
After the buffering debacle, the NFL has reportedly reached out to Netflix about the stability of their service. Netflix is set to stream an NFL game on Christmas.
