If you own Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen in your fantasy football league, you’re obviously thrilled about Sunday night. If your opponent this week had Allen, well, we can all feel your pain.
Josh Allen had another MVP-like performance in the Bills’ 35-10 dismantling of the San Francisco 49ers on ‘Sunday Night Football.’ The 28-year-old finished with 148 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, a rushing score AND a receiving TD.
As noted by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and several other analysts, Josh Allen was credited with both a passing and receiving touchdown on his highlight reel hook-and-ladder play with Amari Cooper:
Needless to say, fans were totally freaking out over this confusing fantasy football ruling:
‘Well that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard,” one fan wrote.
“That is wild… I would have thought it would have been a rushing TD for him,” said another fan.
“What am I missing here? How is that two touchdowns for Josh Allen if Amari is the one who caught it and lateraled it?,” another confused user said.
“And I’m a proud recipient of that one. Better yet,.. I’m playing a one game showdown and Allen is my MVP so he gets 1.5X points. BOOM !!!!,” a lucky Josh Allen fantasy football owner said.
“And I’m out of the playoffs because of that play,” an unfortunate fan wrote.
“What how does that make any sense?,” a fan said.
“Josh Allen really out here doing it all—throwing and catching his own TD! That’s next-level stuff,” wrote a fan.
“This shouldn’t be a passing touchdown. He didn’t catch the ball himself,” wrote another user.
Josh Allen Strengthened His MVP Case
What can we say? It was a great night to be a Buffalo Bills fan and a Josh Allen fantasy football owner. As great as he is, only so many people could have predicted that he’d have a day like that in the snowy conditions against one of the NFL’s better defenses.
