Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur explained his actions to reporters after he got heated with a Detroit Lions fan on Thursday night.
LaFleur was seen remonstrating and mouthing the words “Shut the f**k up,” with players and staffers needing to get between him and the opposing supporter at Ford Field before the ‘TNF’ fixture.
Speaking in his postgame presser after the 34-31 loss, the Packers HC revealed that the fan trash-talked his players and made a throat-slashing gesture he clearly took umbrage to.
“He was talking junk to our players, giving ’em the throat slash sign,” he said. “You’re trying to de-escalate it, and then he gets in my face… Usually, they police that much better… I would like to see security step in…”

Matt LaFleur Didn’t Score Many Points Among Fans With His Explanation
Fans weren’t having any of LaFleur’s explanation, with many of them suggesting he was thin-skinned.
“SOFT,” someone commented.
“Matt. You’re soft. You handled it Poorly,” another echoed.
“bro can’t take a lil trash talking from a fan. kinda soft tbh,” a third chimed in.
“No surprise a fanbase that hasn’t won a damn thing doesn’t know how to act lol,” someone else said, seemingly backing the coach.
“Fan knows he can’t get touched. Fake tough guy,” another wrote.
“De-escalating as he screams shut the f**k up and walks toward? Lol the video is out there,” a user claimed.
Did he handle that badly, or nah?
