Beyonce performed a memorable performance during halftime of one of the NFL’s games, which streamed on Netflix as part of the platform’s Christmas Day doubleheader on Wednesday.
While the games were hardly as exciting as fans anticipated, the 43-year-old put on an electric show that did not disappoint, although she has come under fire for a questionable gesture.
The world-famous artist took center stage at the NRG Stadium in her native Houston on the day, with the Texans hosting the Baltimore Ravens. Her performance featured cameos from the likes of Post Malone and Shaboozey, as well as her daughter, Blue Ivy.
The outing also marked the first live rendition of some of the songs from her new “Cowboy Carter” album and drew rave reviews, with fans suggesting it was good enough to have been a Super Bowl halftime delivery.
Beyonce Earned An Unbelievable Sum For Her 15-Minute Performance
According to reports, Beyonce made a cool $20 million for the 15-minute performance, which was considered part of a three-project deal worth $60 million signed with Netflix back in 2019.
She collected $20 million for the first one, a concert documentary branded “Homecoming: A Film by Beyonce,” which has led insiders to believe she made another $20 mil for the halftime show on Wednesday.
“If we believe this to be true, then that’s $20 million specifically for this [halftime] performance,” Trapital founder Dan Ruchie told Andscape.
Trapital is a company that deals in inside information where it pertains to sports and music.
As mentioned above, however, Beyonce was criticized for a certain gesture, having dropped a finger gun during the show.
Fans thought it was hypocritical of the NFL to allow her to do something players get fined for in their celebrations, with many joking that she should have been flagged.
