Football fans are teeing off on CBS analyst Tony Romo for the bizarre comments on the MVP race he made during the New York Jets-Buffalo Bills game on Sunday afternoon.

After a James Cook rushing touchdown in the third quarter, Tony Romo and Jim Nantz discussed Josh Allen’s MVP chances against Lamar Jackson. There, Romo offered a rather peculiar take on the race:

“I think they’re tied in my brain. I think that Josh Allen might get the edge, only because Lamar’s had two. If Josh had two, you’re gonna side with the guy who doesn’t have one. That’s just human nature in my opinion.”

Fans wasted no time destroying Romo for this questionable take.

There is a simpler way to do it…. give it to whoever deserves it,” one fan said.

“as announcers you shouldn’t be saying things like this bro,” quipped another.

“All they do is feel sorry for Allen and pander to him it’s so annoying at this point, a fan wrote.

That’s Tony Romo’s opinion it’s ridiculous, bro. They’re trying so hard to give him the MVP. It’s Lamar’s,” another opined.

“the MVPity award going to the Damian Lillard of the NFL,” joked one fan.

“Tony loves him some Josh Allen,” another remarked.

“This is why I hate Tony romo, one of the worst broadcasters,” quipped a fan.

“Tony Romo just said Josh Allen should win MVP bc Lamar already has 2. That is the dumbest reasoning of all time,” wrote another.

Josh Allen is the front-runner to win the MVP at this point, and he further cemented his case with a dazzling performance against the Jets. Allen had two passing touchdowns and one rushing score in a 40-14 blowout victory.

Tony Romo Doesn’t Have An MVP Vote

As Jim Nantz pointed out during their MVP discussion, Tony Romo isn’t one of the 50 people who gets to vote for the MVP winner. So that’s good news for the fans who are furious with Romo’s bizarre comments about the Allen-Jackson MVP race.
