Detroit Lions kicker Jake Bates had no clue he would become a trending topic online, but ESPN made sure that happened during Monday Night Football.
Bates was awkwardly stretching on the sideline in a weird-looking position when ESPN sideline reporter Lisa Salters decided she had to know what he was doing.
Bates said that he was “fine,” but ESPN’s Joe Buck and Troy Aikman still had a nice laugh.
Minutes later, Bates came in for a 42-yard and knocked it down.
The Lions kicker was then shown on the ground stretching with his tongue hanging out.
Social media had a field day with the footage of the Detroit Lions kicker.
“Bro, working the hips for that post-game action,” one fan said.
“That’s my kicker,” one excited Detroit Lions fan added.
“ESPN Late Night… for sure,” a third fan stated in the comment section.
One hilarious fan added: “Put your tongue away, bro.”
“Me watching the Chilis waitress bringing out fajitas,” a fifth fan stated.
A sixth fan concluded: “This is gonna be a great meme 🤣🤣.”
One final fan added: “Draw me like one of your French Girls…”
