Mild mannered Kansas City Chiefs star snubbed from making Pro Bowl for second year in a row

For the second consecutive year, Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie has been snubbed from making the Pro Bowl.

The 2025 Pro Bowl rosters were revealed on Thursday, with five Chiefs players making the team. Eight Chiefs were named as alternates, including McDuffie. Alternates will only make the team if someone ahead of them drops out, otherwise they will not be credited for being named a Pro Bowler.

McDuffie got a better honor in 2023 as he was named a First-Team All-Pro. He has put himself in position for that to happen again this season, recording 59 tackles (six for loss), two interceptions, 13 passes defensed (a career-high), one forced fumble, and one sack.

It’s a bit surprising that McDuffie still remains under the radar, but he goes about his business quietly and professionally. Cornerbacks who made the Pro Bowl roster for the AFC include Marlon Humphrey, Patrick Surtain II, Derek Stingley Jr., and Denzel Ward. Players whose teams make the Super Bowl will not participate.

That could very well be the case for McDuffie as the Chiefs chase the first Super Bowl three-peat in NFL history. It’s probably safe to say McDuffie would prefer being an All-Pro and winning another championship ring, but it would be nice for him to get the acknowledgment that he deserves from fans and his peers and start making it to the Pro Bowl.
