Paul George got caught up in the fanfare after the Philadelphia Eagles punched their ticket to Super Bowl 59 on Sunday night.
The NFC East side defeated divisional rivals, the Washington Commanders, at Lincoln Field, prompting street celebrations. Broad Street was particularly festive as fans stuck around to soak it in and party while also waiting to find out who their next opponents would be.
George, now with the 76ers, had a hard time getting out of the crowd as he attempted to drive through said street, and it likely took him much longer to get to wherever he was going than usual.
Check him out in the video below:
Paul George Picked The Worst Time
The star forward was recorded trying to navigate his way through a sea of fans after the game. Of course, he should have known better. Then again, he hasn’t been in Philly that long, as it’s his first year in the city.
“What is he thinking driving down broad??? No one warned him??” a fan asked.
“why the hell is he going through broad street rn😭😭,” another chimed in.
“He picked a bad night to be driving through Broad Street,” one pointed out.
While George presumably got through without incident, things got pretty scary at one point as a driver was arrested for driving into a crowd of people on Broad Street and causing injuries to three individuals. Fortunately, they were not life-threatening.
Police also do not believe that it was intentional.
In a separate incident, an Eagles fan was shown brandishing a pistol before firing several shots into the air.
Meanwhile, the Eagles will play the Kansas City Chiefs in a Super Bowl rematch after the latter’s win over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game.
