Tim Tebow may have finally given up on his sports dreams, but that has not stopped him from doing other things.
Tebow has found purpose on a new playing field. The Florida Gators football legend and Heisman Trophy winner is now a partner at GOVO Venture Partners, a venture capital firm based in Winter Park, Florida.
The former NFL quarterback turned football analyst is doing this since GOVO’s goals align with the Tim Tebow Foundation.
The firm wants to invest in companies and people who’ll “strive to solve societal problems.”
Tim Tebow’s Foundation is a charitable organization that focuses on vulnerable people in need. For his duties at GOVO, Tebow will be tasked with expanding the company’s capacity to attract Florida-based investment opportunities while supporting broader company goals, according to Sportico.
“I am excited to partner and invest in GOVO because they care about purpose and people,” Tebow said in a statement.
The report states that Tebow’s role will also call for him to accelerate the growth of the fund’s portfolio. The company currently has seven companies to date that revolve around cloud clinic healthcare, data-supported traffic management, cybersecurity, connected vehicle commerce, AI-powered voice identification, medicine management and 3-D printed seawalls.
Tebow, a former first-round pick and two-time national champion, was praised online for his new job.
