Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has shared his thoughts on Donald Trump’s plans to attend the Super Bowl this weekend.

According to a White House official, Trump will be at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans for the Chiefs’ Super Bowl 59 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. Should things go according to plan, he will become the first sitting president to watch a Super Bowl in the flesh.

Mahomes was asked for his feelings on the POTUS coming to the game while speaking to reporters late on Wednesday and said it would be “cool” to play in front of a president.

“It’s always cool to be able to play in front of a sitting president, Someone that is at the top position in our country,” he said.

Mahomes also expressed gratitude over the recent compliments he got from Donald Trump, although he noted that he didn’t hear them himself.

Patrick Mahomes’ Wife Publicly Endorsed Donald Trump

Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, is known to be a Trump supporter and publicly endorsed the Republican ahead of the presidential elections last year.

Her political persuasions were rumored to have caused a rift with Taylor Swift as they sat separately from each other at a particular game, but the talk was quickly put to bed.

Swift’s partner and Mahomes’ teammate, Travis Kelce, shared sentiments similar to those of the quarterback, saying it’s “awesome” that Trump’s going to be at Sunday’s game.

“That’s awesome,” he told reporters earlier this week. “It’s a great honor, no matter who the president is. I’m excited because it’s the biggest game of my life.”

Super Bowl 59 will kick off at 6:30 p.m. at the aforementioned venue on Sunday.
