Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce said it was a “great honor” for having President Donald Trump in attendance for Super Bowl 59 when he was asked about during Super Bowl week but he may not feel that way anymore.
Despite picking the Chiefs to beat the Eagles in the Super Bowl, he seemingly took a jab at KC after they got blown out 40-22 in New Orleans. In a post on his Truth Social page, Trump took a dig at Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, who endorsed Kamala Harris over him during the 2024 Election.
“The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift,” Trump wrote. “She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!”
That didn’t sit well with Kelce. According to the Daily Mail, “Travis believes that it was unnecessary for Trump to take a dig at her especially after he voiced that he was honored for a president to be there.”
“After Taylor being shut out for a Grammy and Travis losing the biggest game of the year, it just hasn’t been a good week for them. But he knows that even though this is not a happy ending to the season having her love gives him so much joy.”
After one of the worst games of his career (four catches, 39 yards), Kelce will reportedly take some time during the offseason to weigh his options before deciding on retirement.
The 35-year-old All-Pro tight end told reporters during the week that he believes he has a lot of football left and that he sees himself still playing with the Chiefs in three years.
