Game Over. Kendrick Lamar dropped THE halftime show of all halftime shows at Super Bowl LIX. Drake may want to remain a hermit for at least another 12 months after that.

Lamar – who received a far more positive reaction than Taylor Swift did in New Orleans – tore through his extensive back catalog and, of course, tormented his Canadian nemesis even further by first performing diss track Euphoria before teasing, then ripping into, an explosive version of Not Like Us, much to the joy of the 75,000+ in attendance inside the Caesars Superdome. All while Serena Williams Crip Walked alongside.

The visuals and the choreography were jaw dropping in their creativity and execution. Samuel L.Jackson, bedecked in Uncle Sam regalia, introduced Lamar and would appear intermittently throughout the set.

Initially, Lamar teased performing Not Like Us, dropping the line “I want to perform their favorite song, but you know they love to sue”. A few minutes later, however, the Compton born rapper, who swept the Grammys earlier this week with five wins for his seminal, record breaking diss track, dropped it in all its brutal glory. The “Say Drake…” line being dropped with a Cheshire Cat grin DIRECTLY INTO THE CAMERA was particularly mischievious.

The memory of almost 80,000 people hollering “A MINORRRRRR” in unison will last long in the memory, as will Kendrick finishing with “Turn his TV off” before the message “GAME OVER” illuminated the audience. Nasty work, you have to agree. But very much the work of a man who has turned being a hater into an artform over the last year.

The Best Reactions to a Historic Kendrick Lamar Halftime Show

Naturally, social media pretty much imploded during all of this, so here’s the best reactions to a truly historic halftime show.

GAME. OVER.
