Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl 59 Halftime Show Was Most Watched In NFL History

Super Bowl LIX was a record-breaking Super Bowl and it wasn’t just the game that broke records but the halftime show, as well.

Roc Nation said 133.5 million viewers tuned in for the performance, which is slightly above the initial projection of 131.2 million and surpasses the viewership from the Super Bowl XXVII halftime show with Michael Jackson.

On Monday, FOX Sports announced that an average of 126 million people watched the Super Bowl, which is the highest rating ever for the event.

The Super Bowl has consistently been the most-watched event ever year with viewership increasing year-to-year.

But to have Kendrick Lamar’s show overtake the legendary performance from Michael Jackson is a testament to Lamar’s fans and the highly anticipated performance.

The 37-year-old has never been more relevant. His beef with Drake was one of the biggest stories in pop culture, and he’s a little over a week removed from winning five Grammys, including “Record of the Year” and “Song of the Year.”

The feud with Drake was what drew everyone in for the Super Bowl. We were all waiting to see how Lamar would escalate things, or in this case take a victory lap because he’s the undisputed winner by now.

The Eagles defeated the Chiefs, 40-22, in Super Bowl 59.
