Two Philadelphia Eagles players have been hit with fines stemming from their actions in the Super Bowl 59 blowout win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Jalyx Hunt was fined $5,690 for a “bow and arrow” sack celebration after taking down Patrick Mahomes in the second quarter. The league determined it to be a violent gesture and an act of unsportsmanlike conduct.
On top of that, defensive tackle Milton Williams was fined $14,069 for his “dunk over the crossbar” celebration after Mahomes was strip-sacked in the third quarter, per Pelissero.
Both players are still on their rookie contracts (Williams is a pending free agent), but we’re sure they’re not sweating the loss of cash. It’s not every day you get to make a big play in a Super Bowl, after all.
Williams, Hunt and the Philadelphia Eagles dominated Kansas City in the trenches en route to the blowout win. Williams had four combined tackles, two sacks, two tackles for a loss and one QB hit on Mahomes. Hunt recorded half a sack, two tackles and one QB hit.
