A new report has suggested that Xavier Worthy could be in some real trouble as serious jail time is on the cards for the Kansas City Chiefs rookie.
Worthy was arrested in Williamson County, Texas, on Friday night, with online records showing he was booked for assault on a member of his family or household in the form of impeding breathing or circulation.
The former Texas Longhorns star was jailed at the Williamson Sheriff’s Office on the night. According to ESPN, he had not posted bond as of Saturday morning.
The outlet also noted that the charge could mean significant prison time if one is found guilty.
“In Texas, impeding a family member’s breathing or circulation is a third-degree felony and punishable by two to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine,” ESPN states.
The Chiefs Said They Were “Gathering Information” After Xavier Worthy’s Arrest

Not much more is known with regard to the player’s arrest at the moment.
The Chiefs confirmed having been made aware of the situation and were “gathering information.”
Worthy was the team’s first-round pick in 2024 and enjoyed a decent first season in which he caught 59 passes for 638 yards and scored nine touchdowns.
His arrest marks the second consecutive time a productive Chiefs rookie wideout fell afoul of the law in Texas, with Rashee Rice getting arrested in Dallas last year.
