Joy Taylor may have barked up the wrong tree.
The Cincinnati Bengals made news this month by reaching contract extensions with both Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, according to multiple media reports.
Chase signed a four-year, $161 million deal that will make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. Higgins will sign for four years, $115 million.
The deal keeps Cincinnati’s top two receivers alongside quarterback Joe Burrow.
That news dominated headlines and talk on various talk shows.
During the latest edition of FS1’s “Speak,” Joy Taylor revealed that she was shocked that Cincinnati would give Higgins a long-term extension.
“It’s not that Tee Higgins didn’t deserve to get paid; I’m just surprised they paid him in Cincinnati,” Taylor said.
“If you’re serious about winning championships, yes, you have to have high-level talent on the offensive side of the ball. But you have to have some semblance of a defense as well.”
Unfortunately for Taylor, she may have called out the wrong player.
Higgins’ mother, Lady Stewart, would take to X and fire back at Taylor.
“Harpo who dis woman,” Stewart wrote on X.
Tee Higgins logged 73 receptions and 911 receiving yards in the 2024 season. He also recorded a career-high 10 touchdowns across 12 games.
To Joy Taylor’s point, the Bengals must spend to fix their terrible defense.
The Cincinnati Bengals’ 2024 defense was widely considered to be historically bad, so while they can put up a ton of points, just as they did last year, they also gave up a ton more points.
Joy Taylor Makes Nine Years At Fox Sports

Many fans think Joy Taylor should have been removed from the air or fired permanently after the scandal rocked Fox Sports in January.
Against all odds, Taylor is still there and celebrated her nine-year anniversary with Fox Sports this week.
Monday marked nine years.
It remains to be seen if Taylor can make it to ten or more after she was named as a defendant in a workplace misconduct lawsuit filed by a former Fox Sports hairstylist that alleges Taylor bullied and discriminated against the former co-worker on the basis of race.
