Being an astronaut is one of the world’s most time-consuming and taxing jobs. Some may even say it’s the most stressful job in the world. As most people know, NASA is the most famous group known for space travel.
NASA is considered the top organization in the world when it comes to space exploration, and odds are when astronauts go to get their very high-level training, NASA is where they’ll go, and it’s not for nothing.
Recently, two astronauts were rescued after they were stranded in space for over nine months. Barry “Butch” Wilmore and Sunita “Suni” Williams safely returned to earth this Tuesday, and they must be very thankful that it happened.
However, while their families must be super happy to have them back on their home planet, they are not the only ones happy to be back. In a livestream that showcased their return, a group of dolphins can be seen welcoming the astronauts back to Earth.
NASA Astronauts Greeted By Dolphins On Return

NASA streamed their return to Earth live, and the video showcases the astronauts with huge smiles as they touched down in the water off the coast of Tallahassee, Florida; a pod of dolphins can be seen waiting alongside the recovery vessels.
As the formerly stranded crew took their first breath of fresh air after leaving the vessel, the dolphins could be seen jumping out of the water, and what a sight it was. Not only were the astronauts happy, but so were the dolphins.
Even the stream host that showcased the journey mentioned the dolphins during the stream, saying, “Here on your screen, we can see dolphins, actually, who want to come and play with Dragon,” which was the name of the returning shuttle.
After everything is said and done, we’re sure that everyone is happy that the crew is now safe and back home for the first time in over nine months, and it will be interesting to see what happens from here on out.
