President Donald Trump has once again been spotted with a visible mark on his hand, sparking fresh speculation about his health. The latest sighting occurred as he signed an executive order to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education, an agency he has long criticized for inefficiency and ideological bias.
The mark — which was seen during a televised signing ceremony and spotted in a Getty photo —comes after previous instances where bruises on Trump’s hand raised questions among observers. Some speculate the discoloration results from frequent handshaking, while others believe it could indicate medical treatment.
The Trump campaign, however, maintains that the former president’s rigorous schedule and constant interaction with supporters are the cause.
Concerns Over Donald Trump’s Health

Social media users quickly noticed the mark, with images circulating online showing a dark bruise-like discoloration on his right hand. Earlier this year, a similar mark appeared during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron on the anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
At the time, press secretary Karoline Leavitt dismissed health concerns, attributing the bruises to Trump’s relentless engagement with the public. “President Trump has bruises on his hand because he’s constantly working and shaking hands all day every day,” Leavitt said.
However, medical professionals suggest age-related factors could be at play. Dr. Anatalia Moore, a skin specialist, explained that bruising becomes more common in people over 70 due to thinner skin and slower healing. “For many patients in their 70s, a simple knock against a door frame can cause significant bruising,” she told The Mirror.
Despite speculation, Trump appeared energetic as he declared the Education Department’s closure. “Today, we take a very historic action that was 45 years in the making,” he said. “We’re shutting it down because it’s not doing us any good.”
While the debate over Trump’s handmarks continues, his latest executive action is making waves, fulfilling a long-standing conservative goal. Whether the bruising is a minor issue or a sign of something more remains uncertain, but it hasn’t slowed him down politically.
