The Kansas City Chiefs are finally getting their long-awaited trip to the White House.
According to recent reports, the team will visit Washington, D.C., later this year to celebrate their Super Bowl LIV victory- a postponed trip due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The announcement comes as the Philadelphia Eagles also prepare for their visit after winning Super Bowl 59.
After winning Super Bowl LIV against the San Francisco 49ers in early 2020, Kansas City missed the traditional championship visit due to nationwide lockdowns. Now, more than five years later, the Chiefs will finally receive their honor in the nation’s capital.
Kansas City Chiefs To Finally Make The Trip

President Donald Trump confirmed the news over the weekend, explaining that the Chiefs would make the trip after missing their opportunity in 2020.
“I look forward to having the Eagles, and one other thing, we’re going to have the Kansas City Chiefs after that because they missed their turn because of COVID,” Trump stated.
This year’s White House festivities will feature a unique twist, with two major NFL franchises receiving recognition. The Eagles will visit on April 28, while the Chiefs’ specific date remains unconfirmed.
Kansas City’s trip comes after years of speculation on whether they would get their postponed visit. The team’s victory in Super Bowl LIV marked the beginning of a new dynasty led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce, solidifying their status as one of the league’s dominant forces. However, their subsequent Super Bowl wins had separate celebrations, making this visit all the more significant.
The Chiefs’ long-overdue White House celebration will be a momentous occasion for the franchise and its fans. With two powerhouse teams making the trip, it will be a rare and noteworthy event in NFL history.
