Alina Habba, counselor to President Donald Trump, is headed off to do another job.

Being attached to the President certainly bodes well for her and her career.

On Monday, President Donald Trump named Alina to serve as the next interim U.S. attorney for the District of New Jersey.

Habba, who turns 41 this week, will take over the interim post from John Giordano, whom the President said he’s naming to be the U.S. ambassador for the southwestern African country of Namibia.

Alina Habba served as a senior adviser for Trump’s political action committee, defended him in court in several civil lawsuits, and acted as a spokesperson last year.

Habba did not answer repeated questions on why Trump appointed her to the role on an interim basis rather than permanently.

On Monday, President Donald Trump named Alina Habba, his current presidential counselor, as the interim U.S. attorney for New Jersey.Habba is best known in Trump’s world for having represented him in three trials in recent years. She defended Trump in two trials against the writer E. Jean Carroll, who accused Trump of raping her in the 1990s.

She would also defend him in a civil fraud trial against the New York attorney general. In both trails, Trump would end up losing.

In recent months, she’s served as a White House defender.

Following Trump’s announcement, Habba said she looked forward to working with Attorney General Pam Bondi to pursue the President’s agenda of “putting America first” and going after the people “we should be going after.”

Alina Habba told reporters outside the West Wing after the announcement that she would do a “bang-up job” tackling corruption.

“If you look at what happened in crime, what’s going on in Newark, what’s going on in Camden, this has been a neglected state. It is one of the most populated states for its size, and it needs to stop. We’re gonna do a bang-up job,” Habba said Monday.

Pressed on whether she would go after politicians, she shot back that the media would “love that narrative.”

“Correct, because I think Cory Booker and Governor Murphy have failed the state of New Jersey. If you look at what happened in crime, what’s going on in Newark, what’s going on in Camden, this has been a neglected state,” she said. “It is one of the most populated states for its size, and it needs to stop. We’re going to do a bang-up job. I cannot wait. It’s a great honor.”
