WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump slammed Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) as a “lowlife” for referring to Texas Governor Greg Abbott as “Governor Hot Wheels” over the weekend, reported Fox News.
The incumbent remarked while appearing on an over-the-phone interview with conservative radio host Vince Coglianese on Wednesday, March 26.
Jasmine Crockett’s jibe at Greg Abbott
Speaking at a Human Rights Campaign dinner in Los Angeles on March 22, Jasmine Crockett called out Greg Abbott, saying, “We in these hot a** Texas streets, honey. Y’all know we got Governor Hot Wheels down there, come on now! And the only thing hot about him is that he is a hot a** mess, honey!”
The jibe has been widely interpreted as a reference to Abbott using a wheelchair since the age of 26, when he was left paralyzed after being hit by a falling tree while jogging.
Crockett has been criticized for her comment across the political aisle, which forced her to issue an explanation on the social media platform X on March 26.

“I wasn’t thinking about the governor’s condition—I was thinking about the planes, trains, and automobiles he used to transfer migrants into communities led by Black mayors, deliberately stoking tension and fear among the most vulnerable,” she wrote.
She added, “Literally, the next line I said was that he was a “Hot A** Mess,” referencing his terrible policies. At no point did I mention or allude to his condition. So, I’m even more appalled that the very people who unequivocally support Trump—a man known for racially insensitive nicknames and mocking those with disabilities—are now outraged.”
Donald Trump’s criticism of Jasmine Crockett
Coglianese raised the topic of Jasmine Crockett mocking Greg Abbott during her Trump interview on Wednesday, along with her follow-up post on X.
“She’s been called out for that. She later came out on X and she claimed that she was just actually talking about when he was bussing illegals around the country, which seems to me like a pretty brazen lie on the lawmaker’s part,” said the host.
“Well, it’s a lie. And she lies,” the POTUS claimed. “But she’s a lowlife, and she’s a very low-IQ person. I don’t imagine the Democrats are going to have a person like that running their party. If they do, they’ll never win an election again. It would be very hard.”

In a separate conversation, Trump claimed that when he first saw the video of Crockett mocking Abbott, he had no idea that she was a politician.
“At first, I thought she was a comedian. I couldn’t believe she was a congressman or whatever she is,” he said, before admitting that he thought she “was a little bit funny, but crude, and now I found out she’s actually a politician.”
Internet slams Trump for his remark
While some conservatives on the social media platform X backed the POTUS in slamming Jasmine Crockett, some called him out over hypocrisy, reminding him of the time he had mocked a disabled reporter back in 2015.
According to the BBC, Trump performed an impression of Serge Kovaleski, a New York Times reporter who suffers from a congenital joint condition, at a rally during his first presidential campaign.
“Trump doesn’t hold back he calls it like he sees it!” wrote a user.
“She doesn’t belong in public office!” shared another.
“Says the president with the vocabulary of a 4th grader,” jibed a third.
“On the important chart of dignity, Trump really is as low as one can go,” noted a fourth.
“Trump should sit this one out,” commented a fifth, sharing pictures of him mocking Kovaleski.
“Ohhhh isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black! I knew it was only a matter of time,” added another.
