Fox Sports NFL insider Peter Schrager is reportedly set to leave the network to take his talents to Bristol, Connecticut.
According to a report from Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, Peter Schrager is leaving his roles at Fox Sports and NFL Network. Though a deal hasn’t been completed, Marchand reports that ESPN is “the leading candidate to be his next destination.”
Marchand added that if Schrager signs with ESPN as expected, he’ll likely work on programs like “NFL Live,” Stephen A. Smith’s “First Take,” and “Get Up”, as well as the network’s coverage of the NFL Draft.
Peter Schrager began working at Fox Sports when he was just 24 years of age in 2006, following his graduation from Emory University with a degree in political science. During his time at university, Schrager briefly freelanced at ESPN’s website.
Schrager appeared regularly on the NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football” program alongside Akbar Gbajabiamila, Jamie Erdahl and Kyle Brandt. He also hosts a podcast, “The Season with Peter Schrager.”

Late last year, Fox Sports hired former Bleacher Report and theScore NFL insider Jordan Schultz. With Schrager gone, it’ll be interesting to see if Schultz (and other Fox NFL insiders, for that matter) gets more screen time at the network.
Peter Schrager Is Latest Marquee Hire By ESPN

Though ESPN conducted a long series of talent cuts two years ago (including Suzy Kolber, Todd McShay, Jalen Rose, Mark Jackson, Jeff Van Gundy, Steve Young and Keyshawn Johnson), the network continues to land big-named talents from rival networks.
Following Adrian Wojnarowski’s unexpected retirement, the network hired Shams Charania to be their new lead NBA insider. And a year earlier, the Worldwide Leader in Sports signed Pat McAfee to a lucrative $85 million contract after he opted out of his deal with FanDuel.
