Two people who were found dead inside a compartment on a JetBlue plane at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in January have finally been identified.
Authorities have identified the two teens whose bodies were found in the landing gear area of a plane that landed in South Florida.
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office identified the individuals as two teenage males— 16-year-old Elvis Borques Castillo and 18-year-old Jeik Aniluz Lusi.
The sheriff’s office said Elvis and Lusi were from the Dominican Republic and that it confirmed their identities following “extensive DNA testing.”

Local 10 News previously spoke with a relative of Aniluz Lusi in January, who had identified the teenager as one of the victims and said he had been missing since Jan. 3.
Nelson René stated the community had always suspected that Aniluz Lusi and two other teens planned to escape the country. The whereabouts of the others are currently unknown.
Where Were The Teenagers Found On The JetBlue Plane?

The bodies of Jeik Aniluz Lusi and Elvis Borques Castillo were found aboard Flight 1801 from New York City to Fort Lauderdale.
Florida investigators identified the pair of teenagers this month after they were found dead in January.
Both Elvis and Lusi were found dead in a JetBlue plane’s landing gear compartment at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
The sheriff’s statement did not reveal how the teens got into the leading gear or state their cause of death.
Officials stated that the two were found during a routine inspection of the JetBlue plane.
