Two people who were found dead inside a compartment on a JetBlue plane at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in January have finally been identified.

Authorities have identified the two teens whose bodies were found in the landing gear area of a plane that landed in South Florida.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office identified the individuals as two teenage males— 16-year-old Elvis Borques Castillo and 18-year-old Jeik Aniluz Lusi.

The sheriff’s office said Elvis and Lusi were from the Dominican Republic and that it confirmed their identities following “extensive DNA testing.”

The sheriff’s office did not say how Elvis and Lusi ended up in the compartment of the JetBlue plane, as the investigation is still ongoing.

Local 10 News previously spoke with a relative of Aniluz Lusi in January, who had identified the teenager as one of the victims and said he had been missing since Jan. 3.
