Four people are said to have been hospitalized since it was reported that there was an active shooter on campus at Florida State University on Thursday.
According to an alert shared at 12:01 p.m., the shooter was in the student union area, with hospital officials having since confirmed that four individuals were brought in with injuries.
The Tallahassee Memorial Hospital issued a statement to WCTV, noting that they are receiving and caring for patients with wounds directly related to an incident that occurred at FSU.
Still, they were unable to provide any specific information and were also keen on maintaining the victims’ privacy.
The video below shows two policemen on campus, who appear to be in pursuit of the shooter.
An advisory warning has also been released, with authorities asking people on the campus to seek shelter and await instructions. They also advise that anyone in need of emergency assistance should call 911 or the school’s police department at 850-644-1234.

Another video shows an injured party being carried away, while one clip shows an officer attending to someone who appears to be a female lying on the ground, though the caption wrongly suggests she’s the shooter.
One eyewitness told WCTV they saw a college-aged male leaving the student union with a handgun.
Florida State University Shuts Everything Down

People who are not already on the main campus are urged to stay away, with the school instructing anyone not already there to avoid entering the premises.
“Lock and stay away from all doors and windows and be prepared to take additional protective measures,” the alert read.
Police were still working to secure the campus at the time of writing.
Florida State University has canceled all classes and events for the day, while Leon County schools near the area are under lockout.
