Jax Ulbrich, the son of Falcons defensive coordinator and former interim Jets head coach Jeff Ulbrich, has been exposed as the perpetrator of the prank call made to Shedeur Sanders during the NFL draft.

After Sanders dropped out of the first round, a video went viral of Sanders getting a prank phone call from someone pretending to be an NFL general manager.

It was a terrible situation as his friends and family were genuinely excited about the phone call.

After the draft was concluded, the NFL announced it was investigating the situation. It would only take a few hours for Jax Ulbrich to reveal he made the prank call and post a profuse apology to Sanders for the situation.

Following that, the Falcons released an organizational statement explaining what happened and issued their own apology to Shedeur Sanders and his family.

The Falcons have also confirmed had been responsible for the phone call and said that he had been able to get Sanders’ number “off an open iPad while visiting his parents’ home and wrote the number down to later conduct a prank call.”

Sanders, along with several other prospects, received prank calls while they waited to be selected by an NFL team.

The first two days of the 2025 NFL draft were dominated by Shedeur Sanders not being taken.

Sanders, a presumed first-round pick, fell to the third day of the draft.

Sanders’ plight was made worse when he received a prank call that he initially believed to be from New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis.

Following that situation, he would soon receive a real call from the Cleveland Browns and get selected in the fifth round.
