Shedeur Sanders was spotted carrying around a jaw-dropping amount of cash at his 2025 NFL Draft party. Now, we know just how much it was.

In what will go down as one of the most stunning draft falls in league history, Shedeur Sanders wasn’t taken until the fifth round (No. 144 overall) by the Cleveland Browns. The second-generation NFLer was widely projected to be a top-10 pick, with almost every scout and analyst expecting him to be gone by the end of the first round.

Though he waited much longer than expected to officially turn professional, Shedeur’s historic draft fall didn’t damper the mood at his draft party. Cameras caught Sanders flashing $100 bills during the celebration in Dallas, and you wouldn’t believe just how much money he was actually carrying.

According to his brother, Deion Sanders Jr., Shedeur Sanders was carrying $1 million in a briefcase at his draft party. Sanders Jr. claims that it was also a gift for the 23-year-old quarterback:

As Sanders wasn’t a first-round pick, he’s not going to make the staggering amount of money he was surely hoping for. Spotrac projects that Sanders’ rookie deal will be a four-year pact worth just over $4.64 million.

It’s unclear who exactly gave Shedeur the $1 million gift to celebrate turning professional, but it’s nonetheless a nice chunk of cash to go into his bank account he signs his rookie deal with the Browns.

Cleveland’s decision to take Sanders in the fifth round was a bit surprising since they had used a third-round selection on Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel.

At any rate, Shedeur should get every opportunity to win Cleveland’s starting quarterback job. Their depth chart consists of Gabriel, Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and Deshaun Watson, who may miss all of 2025 recovering from a torn Achilles.
