Because he has not received a contract extension, Dallas Cowboys superstar wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has been widely mentioned in trade speculation throughout the summer.
The 25-year-old CeeDee Lamb is one of three Dallas star players whom Jerry Jones has yet to extend this offseason. Quarterback Dak Prescott also needs a new deal as he heads into his contract year, and fourth-year linebacker Micah Parsons is eligible for an extension.
If the Cowboys cannot agree on a new deal with CeeDee Lamb, they may have no choice but to field offers for the three-time Pro Bowler. The good news for Jerry is that he would receive a significant return for his top offensive playmaker.
Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon recently put together four blockbuster trade ideas involving CeeDee Lamb. One of Gagnon’s proposals has Dallas sending him to the rival Green Bay Packers in exchange for WR Jayden Reed, a second-round pick and one of Christian Watson or Romeo Doubs:
“The Green Bay Packers have a lot of good, though not great or well-established receivers. But in a huge year for Jordan Love and Co., the team might want to go bold with Lamb and sacrifice two of them because they’ve established the depth necessary to afford that swap.
Essentially, they have become top-heavy.
In this case, we’re presenting the idea of Dallas landing one primary slot guy to more directly replace Lamb (Jayden Reed) along with one of two talented but generally disappointing outside figures.
All come cheap right now, and the Cowboys would be foolish to turn away from them as well as some Day 2 draft capital ahead of such an odd-looking season.”

The Packers are still looking for a true WR1 after trading Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022. Reed was their leading receiver in 2023 with 793 yards and eight touchdowns.
The year before, Allen Lazard led the team with just 788 receiving yards. He left in 2023 free agency to sign with the New York Jets.
Lamb’s 135 receptions led the NFL last season. He had 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns, all career highs. For his career, the 2020 first-round pick has 395 receptions for 5,145 yards and 32 touchdowns.
CeeDee Lamb Trade To Packers Makes Sense For All Parties
Gagnon’s proposal makes sense for both sides here. The Packers’ championship window is just opening, and a top-five receiver like CeeDee Lamb could be the final piece needed to get them over the top.
For Dallas, they’d get two capable 1,000-yard wideouts from Green Bay plus an early-round pick. Prescott has been overly reliant on Lamb, so there’s a case to be made that Dallas would be better off trading him for more depth.
