Former NFL star Dez Bryant isn’t a fan of Pride Month.

The NFL released a 30-second video telling its audience what “football is” as they came out in full support.

On June 1, to kick off gay pride month in some circles, the vast majority of NFL teams decided to celebrate gay pride and gay love and all that comes with it on social media. The NFL social media account, which serves 37.7 million followers, also amplified teams that posted about gay pride.

At least 12 teams decided to post about gay pride month on their social media.

Bryant was not a fan. Dez has always been outspoken throughout his NFL career, and sometimes, that has gotten him into trouble.

Dez Bryant didn’t share his thoughts on the Pride Month campaign until an old video resurfaced and began going viral. The video was first shared by the NFL in 2021.

“Football is gay. Football is queer. Football is transgender. These are wild statements to make,” Bryant wrote on X.

“Excuse my silliness. I’m going to proudly tell my boys football is none of these things. I have nothing against Gays, but this is far from right.”

Bryant’s comments were met with mixed reactions, but he doubled down with a second message.

“It’s gay players in the NFL, but forcing it in people’s faces, especially children, can send the wrong message,” he continued.

“Football is a real community, like the gay community. Imagine telling gays they have to advocate for straight people. They probably would have a problem.”
