Bailey was in the Kerrville area camping with his family for the holiday weekend.

It’s unclear if any other family members with him survived the disaster or have been identified.

His body is currently being held at a facility in Travis County.

A representative from the Odessa Police Department is on-site, working to have Bailey released to his family and brought back to Odessa.

Honor Guard members and officers who were close to Bailey will stand watch over the casket until he is released. From there, they will escort him home.

In a statement, the Odessa Police Department said all its officers are wearing mourning bands over their badges and all flags in front of the department have been lowered to half-staff.

The Odessa Police Department asks residents of Odessa to replace the porch lights with blue bulbs for the rest of the week in remembrance of Bailey.
