Shocking New Video Reveals Hurricane Helene’s Devastating Damage to Augusta National Golf Course

A new video displays Hurricane Helene’s extreme damage to the Augusta National Golf Club after last year’s torrential rains, which left the iconic venue worse for wear.

Helene tore through the American Southeast in late 2024, and the home of The Masters was not spared. It took a considerable battering and needed emergency repairs ahead of this year’s tournament.

“Our Augusta community has suffered catastrophic and historic impact from Hurricane Helene. We currently are assessing the effects at Augusta National Golf Club,” club chairman Fred Ridley said in a statement.

Ridley also aired thoughts for the staff and everyone else in the area who were affected by the natural disaster.

“In the meantime, our focus and efforts are foremost with our staff, neighbors and business owners in Augusta,” he added. “Our thoughts and prayers are with them as well as everyone throughout Georgia and the Southeast who have been affected.”

A new TikTok video shows how Augusta’s situation got extreme in the wake of the hurricane.

The iconic 12th hole was the scene of massive flooding, as you can see below, with Rae’s Creek turning into a huge ravine as water ran down.

In January, Ridley gave the golf community some good news, revealing that the renovation efforts had made good progress, enough for the Master’s to be held there by April.

“As far as the golf course goes, it’s in spectacular condition,” he said, explaining that the damage to the playing surface was not enough to affect the tournament.

Turns out he was right, as you would have never known Augusta National was the scene of such devastation by the time Rory McIlroy began his campaign for the Green Jacket and capped off one of the most entertaining Masters ever.
