WWE fans heavily booed after President Donald Trump was shown on the jumbotron during night one of SummerSlam 2025.
The marquee two-day pay-per-view event was held at MetLife Stadium (home of the NFL’s New York Giants and New York Jets) in East Rutherford, New Jersey. But when WWE tried flexing Triple H’s recent meeting with Donald Trump, the SummerSlam crowd wasn’t very pleased.
WWE’s chief content officer (real name Paul Levesque) was among several notable high-profile athletic/sports entertainment figures who met with Trump on Thursday when he signed an executive order to expand the Presidential Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition.

The MetLife Stadium jumbotron showed the photo of Triple H shaking Donald Trump’s house on Thursday. As you can see below, the fans who packed the stadium weren’t happy with this move by WWE:

The 79-year-old Donald Trump’s approval rating significantly declined at the six-month mark of his second term in office. As of July 25, his disapproval rating at ActiVote was all the way up to 52.0 percent, with his Aug. 1 approval rating at 44.5.

For what it’s worth, the states of New Jersey and New York traditionally vote for the Democratic Party in the elections. Kamala Harris overwhelmingly won the two states despite losing the election to Trump.
