VIDEO: Chargers WR Quentin Johnston Displays “Fencing Posture” After Getting KO’d By Ugly Blindside Hit During Scary Scene vs. Rams

A terrible scene unfolded early on in Saturday’s preseason game between the Los Angeles Chargers and L.A. Rams, as Bolts wide receiver Quentin Johnston was knocked out cold and displayed “fencing posture” after taking a nasty hit.

The incident occurred just three plays into the preseason contest at SoFi Stadium, as Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert aired out a deep ball to Johnston along the right sideline.

The Rams cornerback was able to successfully bat the ball away before it got to Johnston, but seconds after the pass fell incomplete, Rams safety Tanner Ingle came across and leveled an unsuspecting Johnston.

The hit sent Johnston flying, causing him to hit his head on the turf before exhibiting fencing posture as he lay motionless on the ground.

Johnston was eventually taken off the field and he will likely enter concussion protocol.

Jim Harbaugh in Chargers cap

Johnston’s injury comes at a time when the Chargers can barely afford any more losses on the offensive side of the ball.

While Jim Harbaugh’s unit is expected to put up plenty of points this offseason, they’ll already have to do it with two of their other big-name starts.

Most importantly is the loss of superstar offensive lineman Rashawn Slater, who suffered a brutal season-ending injury after zoomed-in video showed his leg buckling during a drill at practice.

Prior to that, it was the newly-acquired Najee Harris who put himself on the injured list with a nasty fireworks accident.

Hopefully the injury to Quentin Johnston isn’t too serious, as he was expected to play a key role as the no. 2 wideout behind Ladd McConkey.
