While the 2025 season has been frustrating for the Fever due to many injuries, one silver lining to the season is the relationship built between Caitlin Clark and her teammate, Sophie Cunningham.
Cunningham has skyrocketed into superstardom ever since joining the Fever via trade during the past WNBA offseason. Her popularity increased even more after she attacked a Connecticut Sun player for going after Clark.
Both Cunningham and Clark are now sidelined. Cunningham is recovering from a torn MCL she sustained on August 17, and Clark is still on the mend from a right groin issue she suffered during a July 17 game.
Their friendship is still as strong as ever, as displayed in a recent picture from Cunningham.

Cunningham’s latest social media post sparked fiery comments from fans. Among those who chimed in was WNBA star Caitlin Clark, who had a perfect comeback to her teammate’s daring photo.
In an Instagram update, she caught everyone’s eye with a striking photo that was impossible to ignore.
The photo featured Cunningham in a cowboy-inspired look. She wore a cowboy hat, a black bikini, and a fringe leather jacket. She also added leather boots for a dramatic Western-chic vibe.
Cunningham was turned around so you could see her cheeks completely out.
One comment in particular stood out amid all the waves of delightful reactions from her followers.
Clark’s hilarious reaction added to the buzz.
“Jeez, Sophie,” she wrote, followed by another comment saying, “Can’t like this.”
In her first season in Indiana after getting traded from Phoenix, Sophie Cunningham averaged 8.6 points and 3.5 rebounds while making 13 starts.
She is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2025 WNBA calendar year.
