Pain is a part of life; nobody knows that better than Dak Prescott.

On Thursday, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback opened his 2025 season against the Philadelphia Eagles. Like every year for the past 12 years, he did so with a heavy heart.

He lost his mother, Peggy, to cancer in 2013 when he was a quarterback at Mississippi State.

Not only that, his brother, Jace, took his own life seven years later.

Just before Dak took on the Eagles, social media users noticed a message on his wrist tape.

Dak Prescott wrote a beautiful “Happy Birthday, Mom!” message. She would’ve been 64 on this day.

In 2023, Prescott got a huge tattoo as a tribute to his mother, brother, Kobe Bryant, and Daffy Duck.

The 2025 NFL season is underway as the Cowboys are currently facing the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles.

Dallas comes into the game as an underdog following the trade of Micah Parsons.

Not many give the Cowboys a chance to beat their division rivals, but the game has to be played, and Dallas has an equalizer who can get it done.

Prescott is 9-4 against the Eagles.
