Sydney Sweeney’s recent appearance at a premiere didn’t go so well. Just a month ago, fans heckled the actress over her controversial ad campaign for American Eagle.
Sweeney, who showed off some remarkable marksmanship amid the criticism, has been accused of promoting Nazi propaganda with the statement, “Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color. My jeans are blue.”
The campaign even drew remarks from Kansas City Chiefs Heiress Gracie Hunt.
Sydney Sweeney Went Through An Incredible Transformation For Her Role In ‘Christy’
The movie should get the actress back within everyone’s good graces, as it reportedly “tested through the roof. ” People who have seen it suggest it could be the one that wins her her first Oscar, per TMZ, while folks who haven’t are looking forward to it.
‘Christy’, directed by David Michod and co-written by Mirrah Foulkes, is a true portrayal of Martin, a WBC super welterweight champion who was a pioneer in women’s boxing and survived a murder attempt at the hands of her own husband in 2010.
Sweeney underwent intense physical training, such as weightlifting and kickboxing, to take on the role, reportedly gaining 40 pounds in the process.
The film will launch in theaters on November 7.
