Brian Daboll and Malik Nabers might not make it through the season without hurting one another.

Nabers, who recently missed practice due to back tightness, had a pretty good game on Sunday, but it wasn’t enough to help his team secure a victory.

Nabers caught five of 12 targets for 71 yards in Sunday’s 21-6 loss to the Commanders. The team failed to get to the end zone all game long.

Armed with a promising talent core led by receiver Malik Nabers and rookie pass-rusher Abdul Carter, the New York Giants began to show cracks just one game into the season as cameras spotted a hectic moment on the sidelines.

Brian Daboll and Nabers were yelling at each other on the sidelines.

To try and fix the moment, the head coach would try to give him a low-five, but got denied by the wideout.

The Giants selected Nabers with the sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He spent three years at LSU, where he was a 2023 unanimous All-American after hauling in 89 catches for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns.

The team is coming off a terrible 2024 season, but Nabers was excellent. He set a franchise record with 109 receptions for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns in 17 games.
