Tiger Woods was spotted with two notable Donald Trump political rivals, and it’s sure to upset the President and his “MAGA” crowd.

In March, Tiger Woods and Vanessa Trump went public with their relationship on social media. Vanessa is the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr., the oldest of President Trump’s five children.

Woods and Trump have a strong friendship that started long before the latter began his political career in 2015. Trump even gave his public blessing on Woods dating his former daughter-in-law, saying, “I love Tiger, and I love Vanessa.”

Despite a good relationship with the President, Woods may have inadvertently added a little fuel by meeting with Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro (a notable Trump critic and potential candidate to run in the 2028 presidential election) and Philadelphia mayor Cherelle Parker on Monday.

According to Michael Lee of the Washington Post, the golf icon was in Philadelphia on Monday for the grand opening of Tiger Woods’ Learning Lab at Cobbs Creek Golf & Education and gave the following statement:

“I was raised: family, education and then whatever sport I played. The opportunities that we’ve been able to create for underserved youth, that has been something that has been fun to be a part of, and we’re just only getting started.”

This obviously isn’t a political endorsement from Woods by any means. But as everyone knows, in today’s age of social media, it doesn’t take much for people to jump to their own conclusions.

Tiger Woods Chooses To Stay Apolitical

Unlike many other prominent athletes, Woods has wisely decided to avoid discussing politics, not wanting to upset either half of his fanbase.

Tiger Woods is also friends with Barack Obama, and the two golfed together during the latter’s presidency. In August 2018, Woods also told reporters that everyone should “respect the office”, regardless of who the president is.

Trump has strong professional and business relationships with plenty of golfing figures, so by no means is his friendship with Woods a political endorsement. Again, the two were close long before Trump became POTUS.

Now in a highly publicized relationship with Vanessa Trump, Tiger Woods will obviously take extra measures to avoid dropping any hints on his political leaning.
