Charlie Kirk has died after being shot while speaking at a college campus, says President Trump.
Donald Trump announced the death of the right-wing activist on Truth Social.
The statement reads: “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie.
“He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika and family. Charlie, we love you!”
The controversial MAGA influencer was addressing a large crowd of students during an on-campus event at Utah Valley University in the U.S. when the incident occurred on Wednesday, September 10.
Footage on social media shows the 31-year-old speaking when a loud bang is heard, and he is seemingly struck in the neck.
He is then depicted shutting his eyes and falling backwards in his seat as blood is seen coming from the wound.
Videos capture the chaotic aftermath, in which the crowd screams and scatters, while several rush towards Kirk.
