The Cincinnati Bengals have received a disheartening update regarding Joe Burrow following the quarterback’s exit from Sunday’s home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second quarter.
Burrow went off the field after a sack by Arik Armstead that kept him floored before trainers attended to him. He initially tried to walk off what appeared to be a left leg or foot injury, but would need help getting to the locker room.
Slo-mo footage showed the exact moment the injury occurred.
According to popular sports doctor Jesse Morse, the QB had an in-stadium MRI, which is not common, and is using a scooter to move around.
“Joe Burrow just had an MRI while still in stadium (that’s not very common),” Morse wrote in a tweet. “He’s using a scooter to move around. No good folks. Video when we have specifics.”
Burrow had completed 8-of-14 passes for 83 yards and a touchdown before going off, with Cincinnati trailing 14-7 at the time. Jake Browning replaced him under center following his exit.
Sunday’s developments could mean serious trouble for the Bengals, especially considering Burrow’s injury history. Fans will be hoping for the best, but the QB has been officially ruled out of today’s game.
