Dallas Cowboys stars Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and Brandon Aubrey weren’t the only folks who put on a superhero-like performance in Sunday’s home opener against the New York Giants.
Despite a lousy effort by the defense (37 points allowed) and Cooper Beebe’s exit with a high ankle sprain (he’s expected to miss 6-8 weeks), the Dallas Cowboys emerged victorious 40-37 in overtime to avoid the disastrous 0-2 start. Aubrey made a 64-yarder to force OT and made good on a 46-yarder in the extra frame to seal the deal.
Again. Superhero-like performances.

The best way to describe the Cowboys’ season through two weeks? A roller-coaster ride.
Owner Jerry Jones infuriated Dallas Cowboys fans when he traded All-Pro linebacker Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers for defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round picks. The Cowboys narrowly lost their season opener to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1, but it was clear that they missed Parsons’ presence.
Minutes after Dallas defeated New York in Week 2, Jones announced the signing of former first-overall pick Jadeveon Clowney, who met with the Cowboys last Wednesday.
The Cowboys offense has been explosive early under first-year head coach Brian Schottenheimer, but the defense has to step up if Dallas is to compete for a playoff spot in a difficult NFC loaded with contenders.
