Amanda Seyfried faces furious backlash after resharing comments alluding to Charlie Kirk’s death being expected

Actress Amanda Seyfried has sparked controversy after appearing to suggest Charlie Kirk’s death was inevitable. The Mean Girls star reshared a post saying, “You can’t invite violence to the dinner table and be shocked when it starts eating.”

Seyfried also called Kirk “hateful” in a separate comment, which divided fans. Critics rushed to X, demanding boycotts. “Cancelled. Worst comments about Charlie Kirk,” one user wrote. Another added, “I’ll never watch a show or movie with you again.”

But not everyone was upset. Supporters praised her boldness. “You gained a follower for speaking the truth,” one fan said. Others called her “courageous” for refusing to stay silent.

Kirk, a conservative activist, was shot dead on September 10 at Utah Valley University. His accused killer, Tyler Robinson, is in custody and facing murder charges.

Do Seyfried’s words cross the line — or are they just free speech in action?
