Social media got a kick out of a diving partnership, given that the names of the two players combined for a bit of an NSFW phrase.
China’s Long Daoyi and Wang Zongyuan came out on top of Friday’s 3m springboard final, beating Mexico’s Juan Celaya Hernandez and Osmar Olvera to win gold.
The Chinese competitors scored 446.1 to win by 2.07 points, handing their country a sweep of all synchronized events at the 2024 Olympic Games.
The divers had fans on social media saying all sorts of things after their names were paired to come up with “Long/Wang.”

“Long/Wang competing in the Olympics #diving this morning. No, YOU grow up,” a user announced.
“🥇 Olympic gold for Long Wang. No joke here, just sharing the news 😉,” another revealed.
“They’re Asian though. What they consider Long/Wang is an Average/Pecker in the West,” someone joked.
“I am sure someone is up for beating Long/Wang. I am positive they can find someone….” a comment read.
“Stiff competition for sure,” someone wrote.
“Oh, I’m pretty sure someone will beat Long/Wang,” another suggested.
“Not dry, of course. Long/Wang will need to be very very wet in order to be beaten,” a fan advised.
Okay, enough. Enough!
Long Daoyi And Wang Zongyuan Admitted To Making Some Mistakes During The Final
Long and Wang made some errors during Friday’s event, but they weren’t enough to lose to Mexico.
“I made two twist errors. This should not have happened,” Long said, per NBC Olympics. “This was my first Olympics, and I was quite nervous, so I made some errors… My teammate has been encouraging me all this time. After these two errors I struggled to find my confidence back, but my teammate has been telling me there’s nothing to fear.”
“It was the first time we jumped together (at the Olympics), but we tried our best,” Wang added. “Now it’s finished.”
The divers kept the miscues at a minimum towards the end to earn gold and leave social media with something to laugh at.
