Jimmy Kimmel is just the latest to lose his job over something negative said about Charlie Kirk.
ABC suspended “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” indefinitely after the host’s comments about conservative reactions to Kirk’s death.
On Monday night’s monologue, Kimmel said the “MAGA gang” was only trying to score political points off Kirk’s murder and that they did not actually care about him.
Nexstar Media responded by stating his remarks about Kirk “are offensive and insensitive at a critical time in our national political discourse.”
Nexstar Media said it would not air Jimmy Kimmel Live! “for the foreseeable future, beginning with tonight’s show.”
Jimmy Kimmel And Donald Trump Respond To the Sudden Firing Over Charlie Kirk Comments
President Donald Trump is elated that ABC decided to suspend “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” after the host commented on conservative reactions to Charlie Kirk’s death.
Kirk, a 31-year-old conservative activist and close political ally of Trump, was shot and killed at a Utah Valley University speaking event as he sat under a tent and debated students.
In response to his death, a wave of people across the country, from an NFL staff member to a dean at a university, have faced professional disciplinary actions following their social media posts about Kirk that some found offensive.
Following his firing, Jimmy Kimmel is said to be “absolutely f–king livid” while President Trump cheered the move as “great news for America.”
The 57-year-old was said to be left fuming, sources told the Daily Mail.
“Absolutely f–king livid,” one producer told the outlet about how Kimmel took the news, adding that the “pissed” late-night host has plans to meet with the network.
“This is clearly the government overreaching. There’s no such thing as free speech in America, if the government can lean on companies to stop any content they don’t like.”
Further sources added that the network’s decision is the “last straw” for Kimmel, who is now “actively looking” to break out of his contract and end his relationship with ABC.
“Jimmy is pissed over the decision to suspend him and the show, and he isn’t going to take this lightly, as he is actively looking for ways to get out of his contract,” the source said, with another insisting they’ve “never seen Kimmel this angry.”
In the meantime, President Donald Trump was elated as he posted, “Great News for America: The ratings-challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
“Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible. That leaves Jimmy [Fallon] and Seth [Meyers], two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it, NBC!!! President DJT.”
You’d have to imagine that Kimmel only grew even more infuriated after reading this message from Trump. It’ll be interesting to see what the late show host’s next move is.
